Mainstream Media Transformed Into Adult Film Parodies

You’ll remember a little while back I posted about the trend in adult entertainment regarding adult funny videos comedy parodies. Well, it seems like Newsweek has picked up on the phenomenon too. The mag’s Pop Vox blog has a chat with Jeff Mullen, who writes and directs parodies under the oh-so-clever name Will Ryder. Ryder is turning out to be the go-to director of the adult film parody world, having helmed spoofs of The Brady Bunch, The Cosby Show, three’s Company, bewitched and even Married With children. He is’s quoted as announcing that adult parodies are the existing “gold rush” of the business. You know he has a point when even Saved By the Bell is being turned into an adult film.

For the past few years, porn parodies of well-liked sitcoms have been increasingly giant businessand for good reason, too. With rampant robbery decreasing the adult industry’s share of the market, adult movie companies are eager to latch on to anything that sells : and, not shockingly, the age old formula of taking a popular TV show and getting the characters in adult funny videos has proved profitable across the industry. Therefore, the making of parodies for everybody from the Bradys to the cast of Hell’s Kitchen. But with X-Play’s latest statement of an adult version of Monday Night soccer, we’re left thinking how far is too far when it comes to this type of thing. Heck, Mon. Night soccer isn’t even a sitcomand after we cross over this bridge, who can say what horrors await us? Couldn’t The McLaughlin Group be far behind?

Newsweek’s interview addresses the burning issue I have were considering : why are not these parody makers getting sued by the original series’ producers? There are tons of legal case laws for this type of speech. But actually, the truth of the affair is, the conventional companies are too damn smart to sue them. Because they know if they sue them, they are going to draw this great mainstream attention on them, which they desire. But they’re too damn smart to do it.

As I pointed out back with the Saved By the Bell post – I haven’t ever seen one of these parodies but I must admit they’re pretty intriguing. Not so much for the adult content, but more for the sheer insolence of taking such a holy American cultural establishment – the situation comedy – and turning it fully the wrong way up. I mean come on, we all knew Jack wished to hook up with Janet and Chrissy, but to actually see him hook up with Janet and Chrissy? That is’s just something you never thought you’d see but always sort of anonymously wished you could, isn’t it?

Adult film parodies have begun to take the industry over. Adult funny videos have invaded the world . As well as parodies based on Hollywood pictures, this July, Friends and other sitcom-based adult flicks have started to pop, some apparent ( three’s Company practically writes itself ), others less so ( Seinfeld? Honestly? ) have begun to get a polluted overhaul. The general public wants Hollywood film and sitcoms that have adult content. And that’s what the industry is silly about doing at the moment. And they really achieved it.
