Improving Photographs
Taking and improving photographs have never been easier thanks to the vast leap in digital technology. We don’t have to wait anymore to have our films processed to see our pictures, we can see it in seconds through our digital camera’s screen. However, it doesn’t mean that our photos are mistake-free now than decades ago. Improving photographs is still a preoccupation by many. And now, whether it’s their decades-old paper photos or modern digital pictures, retouching can be done easily by anyone who desires better photos.
One of the best digital imaging software used in improving photographs is Adobe Photoshop. It is the software most used by graphic designers, photographers and artists. But you don’t have to be a professional in improving photographs and images in order to master this program. All you need is a desire to enhance your photos and a good tutorial to master the basics of this software.
Here are a few problems we almost always see in pictures:
Blemishes and Wrinkles - Everyone wants to be picture perfect in front of the camera. Of course this would include looking young and good in photos. Sadly, point and shoot cameras frequently magnify the flaws in our faces. But thanks to Photoshop improving photographs by removing blemishes, uneven skin tones and wrinkles can be done easily and quickly. No one will argue when their picture makes them appear 10 years younger.
Closed or Half-Closed Eyes - How many times have you heard “I think I blinked!” This doesn’t have to mean another photograph anymore thanks to Photoshop. Closed or half-opened eyes can be fixed in the blink of an eye. A good tutorial will take you through the steps of making sure everyone’s eyes and bright and more importantly open in the final image.
Unwanted People or Objects - Everyone has experienced the wrong person being in the wrong place at the wrong time in a photograph. Don’t get frustrated, get rid of them! You can remove the person as if he was never there to begin with. With Photoshop this can be done with a few tools quickly and easily with the right know-how.
Exposure Problems - Too much exposure in a photo and you lose detail. Under exposure and photos become too dark. Improving photographs with these issues are a little more complex to do particularly if the exposures are extreme, but it can be done. With the right tutorial, you can greatly improve your pictures by bringing out the details in it.
Our most memorable moments are captured with a photograph. Those in years to come will have these visual memories of what our lives were like without ever meeting us. Enhancing these photos will not only make them more enjoyable for us to look at but will make them a true picture of times past for those in generations ahead.
